Who they are: Suta is the narrator at the outer edge of the frame. The sages in the forest of Naimisha ask Suta for a sacred story, and Suta gives them the Devi Bhagavatam by retelling what Vyasa taught Janamejaya. When the book feels like stories nested inside stories, Suta is the first storyteller holding the door open.
What they do that matters:
