Who they are: Parvati is the Goddess born as the daughter of Himalaya after Sati’s death. In the Devi Bhagavatam, she is part of the long arc by which the Goddess enters Shiva’s life again and also emits fierce battle forms. Book 5’s Kaushiki and Kali cycle depends on her body transforming.
