Who they are: Agastya is the sage called when even the gods cannot solve the Vindhya problem. Vindhya has grown so high that the Sun’s path is blocked. Agastya simply has the mountain bow and tells it to stay that way until he comes back. He never comes back.
What they do that matters:
- Leaves Kashi to help the gods.
- Makes Vindhya bow down.
- Settles in the south, leaving Vindhya permanently humbled.
